The maker is Chuck Simpson, an American-born glass
artist who trained with Colin Heaney at Byron Bay in Australia from 1985 before moving to New Zealand and operating a studio
at Inglewood. He moved back to Australia about four years later. Together with his wife Lesley, he worked in a co-operative
at Buderim in Queensland and then set up Vesta Hot Glass Studio in an old brewery at Eumundi about 20 km away. He died in
2001.
